“Hollis has been my violin instructor for over a year. I’m an adult beginner student and have truly enjoyed learning with her and am quite happy with my progress in the first year. She’s very positive and has a keen ability to pick up subtle issues with my technique that always make a big difference in my playing once I apply/correct them. She does an excellent job of keeping me focused, and my love for the violin continues to grow with each lesson. Whether 4yrs old or 50+ yrs old, I highly recommend her.”

“As an adult student that let my violin sit idle for too many years, Hollis was able to help me regain some basics skills and build upon them to re-learn different playing styles. Her approach was refreshing and focused on helping me re-learn some classical pieces that were familiar to my background. In addition, she introduced some jazz and fiddle pieces that I was interested in branching out with and worked with me to fine tune bowing techniques for each style. I would highly recommend Hollis as an instructor for anyone starting out or looking to improve upon existing skills!”

“Ms. Hollis is a very kind and patient instructor. She is great at teaching technique and important skills that have to be learned in order to play the violin at your best. My son Ben absolutely loves taking lessons with her and he has learned so much. She is so professional, talented and has so much experience! She is a perfect instructor for anyone who would like to learn to play the violin!”

“Ms. Roberts is such a wonderful teacher! I came to her when I just started high school and was overwhelmed with joy when I found such a great teacher. Focusing on memorization, technique, and working on a solid foundation even after playing for 10 years prior, really reflected in my playing. I think she was the teacher who really showed me why I wanted to play violin and set my foundation up to improve more and more even today!”

“My oldest daughter was 4 years old when she began taking Suzuki violin lessons with Ms. Hollis. Her previous teacher had gone on maternity leave and I was nervous about the effect a new teacher would have on such a young child. Ms. Hollis made the transition seamless for her. She has a soft-spoken nature that draws her students to her. She is wonderful at teaching through demonstration rather than lengthy explanations. It is an added bonus that she is able to accompany her students on both violin and piano. As a testament to her strength as a teacher she also began instructing my younger daughter at the age of 2 1/2. The level of patience it takes to guide a 2 1/2 year old through the Twinkles in commendable! Our family continues to value all of the encouragement and direction Ms. Hollis provided us during our time studying with her. She is an exemplary teacher and truly grasps the concepts behind a Suzuki education.”
